January.... the Journey of Life

Wow.....    The month of January has gotten away from me.

The Christmas scenes have been winterized.
The sunny days of January have been few and far between.
I have a really hard time with dreary days so I still have
twinkling lights on and  Christmas trees up.
In my defense one of my trees is all decorated with snow things.
In January it is referred to as my Winter tree!

Just a couple more weeks and I will have had enough of Winter
and will be ready to put it all away again.

I feel sort of like my dog.... Really if I'm cozy and happy
who cares if my house still looks like Christmas in January.

I don't have a new word for the year.
I tried it for 2 years and both times forgot what my word was
half way through the year.  Heaven help me.
 I should try again.
Maybe I need to make some sort of sign
 to help me remember.
Maybe this year I would do better.
It takes me a while to catch on.

I had hoped to do a little sewing everyday in 2016.
It hasn't happened.

I am always such a work in progress.

Perhaps this is why....

There have been a few changes in my life this month.
I have a New part time job,
and
a New Granddaughter!

Vivian Ruth.
Born Jan 25.
7 lbs 7 oz.

She is perfect!

I don't have a lot to show for the month....

I have put the binding on a couple of charity quilts

fixed a few meals,
done some laundry,
had some snuggle time.

It is enough.

This might be one of those years where I don't get a lot done
except the most important things.

Winter hugs,
Janita

Hello Janita, Love your wintery house, it looks so cosy and inviting. I can't wait to see your fall decorations when I visit next year. Vivian is just beautiful, enjoy those snuggles. xxx

Vivian Ruth is such a sweetie. I have to admit to leaving some Christmas decorations up all year round because they're so pretty. I've tried to have yearly words but I forget them too, it's nice to know someone is like that.
